Darren Ryan achieves CIHT Fellowship

Darren Ryan, our Principal Consultant has become a Chartered Institute of Highways and Transport Fellow! Becoming an CIHT Fellow is the highest tier of membership available for practitioners and can only be achieved by the industry’s most prominent and talented members. Darren’s achievement comes from over 16 years’ experience in the public and private sector.

Experienced in Transport Engineering, Darren is a professional with a broad range of knowledge in the industry, from planning to design and construction.  With strong programme and project management skills, he has a Master of Science in Transport Planning and Engineering and a is also a Fellow of the Institute of Highway Engineers.

Prior to joining Project Centre, Darren worked in City Councils in Scotland as a Manager with the City of Edinburgh Council. He was responsible for a multi-disciplinary team delivering roads maintenance and streetscape improvements. He has worked successfully in several areas within the industry including, transport engineering, network management, development management, transport planning, policy and construction. Now he is one of our finest in our Edinburgh office.

While at Project Centre, Darren has worked on the Controlled Parking Zone Review Consultation where he directly engaged with local stakeholders and members of the public on draft CPZ designs providing information and advice. He managed the design of the parking restrictions of the expansion of the CPZ as well.  He also assessed the best way how the City of Edinburgh would implement a low emission zone
