Samer and Soledad attend CIWEM’s New Generations Event
Samer Muhandes, Principal Drainage Designer, and Soledad Berbel-Roman, Floods Engineer, attended and spoke at the Charted Institution of Water and Environmental Management’s latest event. ‘New Generations: Saving the environment for the future’ centred around the many innovative projects that focus on how future generations will combat and ultimately eliminate the major water and environmental issues of our time. Delegates had the opportunity not only shared their knowledge and experience, but also had a chance to see the wide variety of courses on offer from the prestigious School of Water, Energy and the Environment at Cranfield University.
The first part of the day showcased Soledad’s presentation, which explored the Copenhagen project ‘protection from storm surges’ that she was a vital part of, and Samer’s which detailed the links between industry and research. Both of these presentations were well received and added key examples of an innovative project that has long lasting benefits and how data can be best utilised in the business. The second part of the day saw Soledad and Samer in conversation with master’s students and early stage professionals where they provided advice about the industry and career path planning.
This was an incredibly fascinating opportunity and we are delighted that Soledad and Samer had such a wonderful time bring their expertise to bear.
