Project Centre sponsor Luton Excellency Award
We recently attended the Luton Excellency Awards 2019 where over fifty employees celebrated their 25 years with the council as well as the ceremony for the 12 awards themselves which recognised the dedication the teams and individuals across the local authority show in their work. We were proud to sponsor the One Council award that rewards the teams that break down the barriers that isolate departments from each other, and then come together to become more than the sum of their parts by combining their collective expertise.
We were pleased to present this award to The Many Voices, One Town/Wellington Street Underpass Team; a project that involves Community Engagement, Public Realm, Highways and Lighting Cultural Enablement, not to mention interactions with external groups such as Volker Highways and Revolution Arts. Their aim is to improve the lives of Luton’s youth through an extensive programme of arts engagement and the resurrection of the Wellington Street Underpass. This scheme required the collaboration of several different fields to fully ensure the various works and all of its facets were of a high standard, something that would have been impossible to achieve individually.
We would like to give a very warm congratulations to all the winners this year and we hope to continue to be an avid part of the celebrations of Luton Borough Council.
