Project Centre secures next design stage of Golborne Road

Project Centre secures next design stage of Golborne Road

Following our outline design in 2014 for Streetscape improvements to Golborne Road between the junctions of Portobello Road and Kensal Road and subsequent consultations, we have now been commissioned to carry out detailed design work and produce a construction pack for implementation. The agreed design will include the following:

  • Footways to be repaved in asp with granite detailing
  • Raised tables to be constructed at the Wornington Road and Portobello Road/Bevington Road junctions, with ramps constructed in granite setts
  • New trees to be planted in ‘build-outs’
  • New ‘heritage’ style lamp columns to replace existing throughout

The construction pack will also include:

  • General arrangements
  •  Site clearance
  • Setting out including long section and cross sections
  • Drainage layout, we want a full drainage design, as this has been an issue in the area. The design should provide for additional gullies as required to ensure no potential future issues
  •  Road markings and signs
  • Standard details

In addition to the commission for Golborne Road, Project Centre has also been commissioned for detailed design and construction package for highway interventions on London Cycle Grid routes A and D. This includes raised carriageway tables, entry treatments, traffic islands and other features.

This is great news for Project Centre and further evidence of the successful partnership between Project Centre and the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea. The projects will be delivered out of our Westgate Office in London.
