Ken Simmonds joins us as Regional Director

We are delighted that Ken Simmonds has joined us as Regional Director for the East, leading on the cross-service business management and operations functions for the region and accountable for the East’s performance and growth.

Ken joins us with over 30 years’ experience across the Civil Engineering and Infrastructure sectors and is both a Chartered Civil Engineer (ICE Fellow) and a Chartered Manager (CMI Fellow). Ken recently worked at Jacobs as their Executive Director of Operations and Head of Strategy and Transformation – Highways, Major Projects, and prior to that as Divisional Director, Major Projects at Highways England. He has significant experience working across multi-disciplinary projects in both the public and private sectors including the M20 Lorry Area in Kent, M25 Junction 30 Improvements, Bracknell Town Centre Regeneration, the Oxford to Cambridge Expressway and supported Highways England in the delivery of their business transformation programme.

Ken is a keen advocate of staff development and as a Fellow with the Chartered Management Institute he is an active mentor to others across the industry and is keen to be involved in the development and delivery of our people policies:

The one thing that really resonated with me was Project Centre’s diversity of talented people, doing great things across a strong portfolio of great clients. It struck me as an organisation that really puts people at the heart of everything it does and as such very much aligns to my own personal values. I’m truly honoured to be invited to be part of the ongoing future success of this great business.”

Ken’s other notable successes include being appointed to the ‘ICE London Air Quality Taskforce’ in the production and publication of the ‘Engineering Cleaner Air’ report in 2016 and the Winner of Capita Symonds Ltd ‘Individual SH&E 2007 Award’ for excellence in the development and promotion of Health and Safety and Environmental Management.
