ICE recognizes Project Centre scheme for prestigious award

It was another successful awards night for Project Centre and its clients at the 2016 ICE awards. The innovative SuDS scheme scooped the Community Impact Award for Bridget Joyce Square, Australia Road. The panel recognized the scheme for its community involvement in action and bringing together of sub consultant skills under the management of Project Centre.

Scheme challenges and achievements included; The safety implications of removing the road and creating a safe crossing environment from the adjacent school to the play area for the children; secondly the collaboration between the local authority and the residents association, who were consulted, along with the school headteacher on the scheme from the very outset; then the sense of place that has been created for use by the whole local community of some 5000 residents and finally how the local authority is monitoring the SuDs to test its effectiveness for informing potential future schemes. Put together, these qualities make the scheme a worthy winner.

Congratulations to Hammersmith and Fulham Council and Paul Tagliarini who was the PCL project Manager.
