Hammersmith Grove project opened
Hammersmith Grove is a ground breaking project that responds to the ambitious agenda of the London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham becoming ‘the greenest borough in the country’. This scheme explores the potential of introducing ‘light touch’ streetscape elements (parklets) to substantially transform the character and use of a town centre urban space.
The scale of this project is substantial for such a central location, with multiple parklets being introduced in a relatively small area maximizing the sense of ‘overnight transformation’. The project also includes new electric vehicle charging points and changes to the kerb alignment which contribute to a more sustainable, calm and safe urban environment.
We provided a wide range of services (project management, public realm design, transport design and highways engineering) that were crucial for the successful delivery of this complex and aspirational scheme. The launch event for the project took place on Tuesday 26 June, having very positive feedback from both the client and first users.
