Greenford Town Centre
More than £3.6 million was being spent on the Good for Greenford project which improved safety for all road users, particularly school children, pedestrians and cyclists, while also reducing congestion and improving the appearance of the town centre.
Project Centre project managed the scheme, looking at signal design, profiling, footway widening and drainage, and reviewing the preliminary design.
The first phase of improvements focused on Ruislip Road East which has benefitted from new street lighting, high-quality Yorkstone pavements and new pedestrian friendly junction improvements.
The second phase introduced new pedestrian crossings to serve the Our Lady of the Visitation primary school and the Cardinal Wiseman secondary school.
A new bus lane and footway parking were introduced and raised junctions improved accessibility and safety for pedestrians.
