‘Get Your Coat’ travel safety app launched

Get Your Coat is a travel safety app which has launched this month after being developed and created by West Berkshire Council and the BURSO (Berkshire unitary road safety officers) group.

This app offers many great features for making your night as safe and successful as possible, including:
• Setting reminders and countdowns for your last public transport options
• Setting designated drivers from your contacts who can be set an automated message to let them know you’re ready to be picked up
• Saving your preferred taxi company contact details to the app
• Locating local taxi company contact details
• Alcohol tracking – record what you’re drinking and see how it relates to recommended daily/weekly allowance and calories

Imogen Leonard, a Road Safety Education Consultant with Project Centre, is a member of BURSO on behalf of the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead.
