Edinburgh Controlled Parking Zone
Edinburgh City Council commissioned Project Centre to implement 5 new controlled parking zones (CPZ) to the south of the city centre. Project Centre carried out 12 hour accumulation and duration surveys to ascertain the parking patterns in the area. This information was then used to design the base parking provision which included pay and display, shared use, resident only and car club bays. Inventory surveys were also carried out to ensure safe and accurate placement of individual parking bays throughout the zones.
As the CPZ’s affected over 40,000 residents and businesses, it was decided to carry out the consultation via individually addressed leaflets to each household/business within the study area. The consultation text, typeset and artwork was carried out by the Project Centre (parking) consultation team. In conjunction with consultation leaflets Project Centre managed and designed all literature and posters for ‘roadshow open days’ within the study area.
