Ealing CPZ Manual
The London Borough of Ealing commissioned Project Centre to review their controlled parking zone procedures and produce a document suitable for both officers and the public to set out their internal procedures for conducting the design, consultation and review of parking in their Borough.
The document looked at the process of conducting parking investigations, initial design, consultation, detailed design and the implementation of new and reviewed parking zones. It also outlined key policy issues such as the safety and environmental impacts of vehicle crossovers and how to apply for them as well as details of the Boroughs programme of reviews.
Following political approval of the content, a glossy A4 document was produced for use both internally and externally and proved to be a useful tool in communicating with the public on sensitive issues. For example, a request from the public for amendments to the parking in their street could be referred to the document for details of the upcoming programme of works and the process that is required for such requests.
