Cycling as part of Healthy Streets with Lucy Marstrand
Last Wednesday, Healthy Streets Advisor Lucy Marstrand presented at a Transport for London conference entitled ‘Cycling as part of Healthy Streets & Vision Zero in planning applications & policy’. The day included introduction, explanation and training by relevant Transport for London officers in relation to London Cycling Design Standards, TfL Cycle Parking Implementation Plan, TfL Cycle Route as well as how these resources and tools should feature in Healthy Streets Transport Assessments, ATZ Assessments and other planning work such as Local Plans and masterplans. These provided essential knowledge to industry professionals to inform their practice in the future.
There were several PechaKucha style presentations discussing various topics such as E-bikes and E-scooters policy update, Innovations in Cycle Parking, protecting cyclists during construction, and economic benefits of walking and cycling. Among the presenters Lucy spoke about ‘Safe and child-friendly environments, roundabouts, crossings and other junctions.’
We were very excited to attend this event and were very impressed with Lucy’s informative presentation.
