Chris Harrison Presents at London’s Future Highways Challenge
Yesterday we attended the innovation and best practice forum event, hosted by Riney. This was a fascinating chance to compare contemporary ideas and applications with our peers and stakeholders who we enjoyed having the opportunity to network with. This was well needed as the extensive array of eclectic speakers generated several interesting topics to discuss throughout the day.
One such speaker was PCL Technical Director Chris Harrison, who presented on the prevalent topic of Liveable Neighbourhoods Funding. In the wake of the February announcements of the boroughs who secured funding through this scheme, Chris spoke about preparing for the next round of bidding and the aspects that make a submission so compelling. In the wake of us helping secure the funding for The London Borough of Tower Hamlets and Newham, Chris used our personal experience to explore the winning features of a Liveable Neighbourhood bid, both in terms of scheme identification and writing the actual submission itself. This included advice on how to mobilise the best resources and governance framework to guarantee successful design and delivery of the project, both in terms of cost and programme.
We were thrilled to be a part of the event and to lend our own insight to some of the issues and modern practices we face in our day to day business.
