Brighton’s Big Day Out
The Brighton office, together with Brighton and Hove City Council, had a fun and informative morning out at Shoreham Port recently courtesy of Tony Parker, the Port Director of Infrastructure and Climate Change. The team learned about the port’s importance to serving local business by providing a sustainable method of importing goods, and how the numerous industries are supported through engineering solutions.
Highlights included seeing the water pumping system used to regulate water levels (powered by the two on-site wind turbines Spinny and Gusty), learning all about the role of steel piles, and witnessing a diver working to release a seal which was stuck in the lock gates.
A fun and fact-filled (if a little cold!) morning was had by all.
